Feeling Fawny?

Shondra Leigh Accessories

oh deer!

Oh, deer.

No, not a typo. Just something so pretty we don’t want to tell anyone else about it. But it’s our job, so fine.

We’re fawning over Deerskin Finial, Shondra Leigh’s leather, gold, and freshwater pearl jewelry collection. Instead of chains and wires, Leigh uses deerskin fringe repurposed from old suede jackets and skirts to make her necklaces, cuffs, and earrings.

Not to mention hangbags, which also have us thrilled to the antlers.

There’s no need to tiptoe around it: ’80s raspberry quilted suede jackets with silk linings look a hell of a lot better done her way — ripped to shreds and sewn into low-slung hip pouches on gold chain link.

Upsetting the natural order has never looked better.

Available at Palas Jewelers, 3209 Paces Ferry Place, suite 10, Buckhead (404-846-8122); Dakota J’s, 1030 N orth Highland Avenue, Virginia Highland (404-870-0690). To see styles, go to
