There Will Be Food

Bren Herrera’s Cooking and Salsa Lessons

saucy scallops!

Nights of dancing, dinner, and passion are best left to the experts. Too bad we’re not in the escort business.

But we are in the business of promoting plucky personal chefs like Bren Herrera, a Havana native who will come over for cooking lessons or dinner parties.

Paella and fried maduros? Beans and rice? She knows traditional street fare cold. But skip to the good stuff: her ten takes on flan (try Grand Marnier and espresso flavors for extra kick) and fusiony twists on tradition (spicy seared scallops with mango relish, malta con leche cocktails).

Herrera is known to throw in a quick salsa tutorial on her way out the door. Too stuffed to move? She teaches at Canvas Art Bar Lounge on Wednesdays.

Let that be a lesson to you.
