A Tall Order

The Bureau Opens

This just in from our Edgewood Avenue correspondent: The Bureau opens today.

Stake it out while you can still get in.

The perpetrators are restaurateurs (Blair Muessle, Chris Lopez, Blake Everett, Anton Uys) in cahoots with gallerists (Anke Schofield, Amy Hollibaugh). Uys and Schofield did the paintings in the street-level bar; the gallery off the upstairs bar is available for events.

The basement has a gentlemen’s club vibe, with a communal table and concrete bar in the billiards den strewn with Jaxx loungers and leather sectionals.

Reports on the modern pub fare are promising: bone marrow ravioli, cider-braised pig cheek with pork belly and beans. Lunch is coming soon, and late-night dining is here to stay (the resto industry set can stop by for oysters, stews, and brews till 2).

Suspect the unexpected.
