The Hills Have Legs

Crusty comforters. Unwelcome insects. Dribbly water pressure. Home-away-from-home isn’t always so sweet.

Then again, you’ve never stayed at Persimmon Creek Vineyards.

The fine dining industry fave winery (check the lists at Bacchanalia, The Ritz, and Reynolds Plantation for a taste) has just opened luxury cottages for overnight visits.

Drink it all in: Viking appliances, stone fireplaces, verandas with sweeping woodland views, private tastings, and tours of the estate. Wander Seyval Blanc vines and babbling brook-cooled stone summer houses that would send the Boxcar Children into blissful fits. Chuck a 400-pound hog named Miss Piggy on the chin.

Decadent features like double spa showers, hidden reading nooks, and copper farm-style sinks don’t do much to sober things up. But feel free to soak it up.

There’s no devil in these details.
