Brand BBQ Market Opens
You finally gave up cigs (social exile + acne + nagging cough = not worth it).
But every once in awhile, you crave a smoke.
Get your fix at Brand BBQ Market, opening Friday in Logan Square. The crew at the neighborhoody smokehouse works over apple, cherry, and hickory coals to produce flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth meat.
Seven made-from-scratch sauces include bourbon mustard, Caribbean jerk, sweet Southern peach, and brandy cherry. Slather them atop pulled duck, smoked pork belly confit, ribs, chicken, brisket, and a burnt-ends burger topped with smoked Gouda.
Options abound for pescetarians and veggies: meatless chili, smoked tofu, grilled shrimp, crab-stuffed portobellos, hand-cut sweet potato fries, and salads.
The bourbon creamed corn is addictive.
A vice that’s easier to swallow.
