We love the idea of a fair trade store, but how many hand salves do we need?
Local ladies Lydia Harter and Ali Price recently launched Lydali, a website aimed at bringing artisanal finds from all over the world stateside. They consciously avoid the crap and source beautifully crafted clothing, accessories, and home goods from designers working directly with artisans in India, Guatemala, Indonesia, and elsewhere. Throws woven by women in Ethiopia or banana bark bracelets made in Tanzania (pictured) save you a trip around the globe.
Artisan profiles are in the works, with background stories and photos of the creators.
