The only sound more comforting than the ocean setting on your child’s sound machine is the happy buzz of siblings playing together.
So we can only imagine Jed and Marne Ackerman’s parents think they’re listening to a symphony. The brother/sister team behind men’s line Jed & Marne just launched their second business, Neen Yo.
Building on their collaboration with Mayan master weavers in Guatemala, they’ve shrunk their grown-up shorts for the playground set. Expect the same dyed color combinations flawlessly constructed on foot looms but sized for kids 8 and under. Neen Yo also includes swingy dresses for girls with three-button necklines and two front pockets.
But the real beauty of the collection is that Jed and Marne provide living wages, humane working conditions, and a future for artisan communities in Guatemala.
We can hear their parents kvelling.
Available at jedandmarne.com, $50-$78.
