Add good friends to simple food and you’ve got a poor man’s feast.
But it’ll taste ten times better at Rich Table.
The hotly anticipated first venture from Evan and Sarah Rich, whose combined pedigree includes Quince and Michael Mina, finally opens in Hayes Valley tomorrow.
With an open kitchen and reclaimed wood details, the married duo aims to create a neighborly, just-back-from-the-farmers-market dinner party vibe. The seasonal menu changes frequently, based on which local finds stir creative juices. Expect Californian fare such as ricotta agnolotti with pork belly and fava beans or tomato-braised oxtail with charred octopus and potatoes.
Our suggestion: Gather a group for the six-course tasting menu. Supplement with rye and peach cocktails or vino from former Coi wine director Maz Naba (priced according to a nifty $45-$55-$65 scheme) and settle in for an evening of bespoke culinary pleasure.
That’s our kind of living large.
