the insider's guide to your city
DailyCandy is a handpicked selection of all that's fun, fashionable, food related, and culturally stimulating in the city you’re fixated on (and all over the Web).
Riding a bike? Oh, c’mon, that’s easy as pie.
But riding a bike with a basket full of delicious homemade pies? That’s quite the trick.
Leave it to Natalie Galatzer of Bike Basket Pies, who delivers made-to-order cupcake-size creations (which come in both sweet and savory flavors) via her trusty three-speed cruiser.
Galatzer uses chunks of butter for her super-flaky handmade crusts (which she perfected in college). And talk about local: The Mission resident scours backyard gardens for the freshest fruit, like this week’s peaches.
Bike Basket Pies usually delivers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Galatzer takes both cash and PayPal. She can even whip up a vegan crust to accommodate a nondairy diet.
So it won’t go to hell in a bike basket.

wait a tic, there are mini pies on the back of a bike that could be on their way to my belly at this very moment? It's cool to cry before noon right?
