Reuse Lighting by Kevin Randolph

MacGyver (shaking his head): I need light to dismantle this bomb. But all I’ve got is a cow bone, an old bed frame, and a filament bulb.

Pete Thornton: You need to step up your game, Mac.

M: What do you mean, boss?

P: There’s a new man in town. Code name: Reuse Lighting. He scours the streets for cast-offs like magnifying glasses, shaving mirrors, and industrial flooring — then reworks them into light fixtures.

M: Sounds like a gumshoe.

P: Nope. They’re sold in stores like Paxton Gate and Perish Trust, and he concocts custom orders from his secret headquarters.

M: He couldn’t turn this pile of garbage into art.

P: Well, he made his first lamp when he was 12 in shop class with an old curtain. Plus, his work illuminates restaurants like Flour + Water and Bar Crudo.

M: Sheese. Guess I’ve been out-Macgyvered.
