Eating at this Mission staple is quite an experience. Enjoy a meal from the daily changing California/Mediterranean-inspired menu, while taking in a foreign or indie film on the movie screen in the covered outdoor courtyard.
This Mission gourmet scoop shop and bakery dishes seasonal ice creams year-round. Flavors include salted caramel, ginger, and roasted pumpkin — served in organic cones. Other treats (house-made brownies, toffee chip cookies, cakes, and pies) beg to be taken home.
Visiting foodies practically drop to their feet, weeping, when they see the bounty of artisanal produce, baked goods, and more inside the Ferry Building. There are also some beloved local restaurants (Boulettes Larder, the Slanted Door), and, of course, one of the best farmers markets in the country.
