DailyCandy is a handpicked selection of all that's fun, fashionable, food related, and culturally stimulating in the city you’re fixated on (and all over the Web).

NoPa

What used to just be a dingy stretch of Divisadero is now a thriving neighborhood, complete with its own blockbuster restaurant. Slowly but surely, NoPa keeps adding dining, shopping, and nightlife destinations, one by one.

EXPLORE ANOTHER NEIGHBORHOOD:
Madrone Lounge

Madrone Lounge

500 Divisadero St 415-241-0242

Lounge, art gallery, club: Madrone is all three rolled into one. More subdued groups chill at couches in the front, while live DJs (and specialty vodka drinks) heat up the action on the dance floor.

Bar Crudo

Bar Crudo

655 Divisadero St 415-409-0679

This downtown joint has a modern approach to the raw bar concept (think tuna cubes with ginger soy, siracha, and green onions) and plenty of Belgian ales on tap to wash it down.

Falletti Foods

Falletti Foods

308 Broderick St 415-626-4400

The anchor of a little foodie paradise. Not only does the market itself carry artisanal products and goodies from local prepared foods/bakery fave DeLessio’s, but it’s also adjacent to Nopalito, the little sister of Nopa, serving farm-fresh Mexican fare. Shop, eat, retire.

The Independent

The Independent

628 Divisadero St 415-771-1421

Many a local claims that The Independent is her choice spot to see live music: It could be the intimate atmo or the strong (and we mean strong) drinks served in plastic cups. See for yourself.

Nopa

Nopa

560 Divisadero St 415-864-8643

Chef Lawrence Jossel’s Cal-Med menu of locally farmed ingredients is served in an airy, oak barn-meets-modern loft atmosphere. The house-ground burger is yum in the tum.

Little Star Pizza on Divisadero should be on this list. Best deep dish pizza in town!!! Ask anyone from Chicago - no joke. They have a cornmeal crust that everyone raves about - order the Brass Monkey!
